Not a traditional folky, influenced heavily by previous encounters with funk bands, country bands, hard rock, country rock, soft rock, rhythm and blues, disco, pop, ska, Bill has been a songwriter since he was 17. Previously as the bass player in a punk band and he was amazed when audiences seemed to like his songs. Of course, he was regularly spat at, this was how audiences showed their appreciation. He is hoping that this tradition doesn’t continue with the Warwick Folk Festival audience, as nowadays it tends to be Mars bars instead of phlegm.
He plays a selection of occasionally funny songs and sometimes something more serious too.
