Warwick Folk Festival are proud to be twinned with Cork Folk Festival in Ireland.
This association between these two established and renowned events was new in 2013 and is a first for folk festivals. We’re delighted to invite them to share in our 35th birthday celebrations, and to join in with theirs in October.
A delegation of musicians and storytellers from Cork will once again bring a flavour of their festival to Warwick Folk Festival in July.
The Cork Folk Festival on 2 – 5th October marks the 35th year of this, and marks it’s place as one of the most important folk & traditional music events in Ireland. Performances take place in concert halls, music venues, in 30 bars and on the Streets. It features concerts with international, cutting edge and established artists plus lectures, workshops, children’s events, and Irish dancing. The event has a strong focus on local Cork City, Sliabh Luachra and Cuil Aodha music and song so prepare for plenty of polkas, slides and harrier ballads.
