Warwick Folk Festival

Press/Media Area

Warwick Folk Festival is regarded as a leading event amongst the 350 or so folk festivals held annually in the UK.

The Festival has run continually since 1980, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2009. From its early years as a single venue event, the Festival is now the busiest weekend in Warwick’s year, attracting around 20,000 people to Festival events each July.

For more than 20 years, the Festival has been based at Warwick School and benefits from fantastic on-site venues and facilities as well as the convenience of having everything in one location. Visitors tell us it is one of the best sites on the UK festival scene. Events on our main site include:

concerts featuring the biggest names alongside up-and-coming artists • ceilidhs with the hottest bands and callers
dedicated events for children & families • comedy • displays from traditional dance teams • sessions & singarounds
workshops led by experts in their field of music/dance • fantastic craft fair & wide range of on-site caterers

Add to that the uniquely warm and friendly Warwick Folk Festival atmosphere created by our audience and you’ve got a wonderful family weekend away!

Warwick Folk Festival also runs the highly-successful and award-winning ‘Festival Fringe’ over the same weekend: streets, cafes, pubs and even churches are filled with free concerts, music & song sessions, dancers and street performers – turning the whole town into one giant festival.
