Pre-Festival Volunteer Opportunities

We are looking for people to join the Warwick Folk Festival family and get involved in the run up to the Festival.

There are several ways to get involved, we are looking for social media stars, crafty folk, and festival ambassadors to let people know about the festival and share the Warwick magic.

Social Media Stars

This role will help showcase Warwick Folk Festival atmosphere and line up through our Twitter, Facebook, Instagram & Youtube accounts.

You will keep Warwick Folk Festival’s social media content up to date, vibrant, on-trend and informative; so, writing content to attract and communicate with festival goers and folk music fans, finding and following other festivals, artists and events, and engaging new followers.

Working with the Festival Administrator, ideally, you’ll be able to commit to posting new content at minimum twice a week, probably more, especially on Twitter.

Skills required: Experience & proficiency in using a variety of social media (Instagram/Twitter/Pinterest/Blogs and more), an interest in music, festivals and Warwick Folk Festival in particular.

A great addition to your CV, volunteering with a well respected festival, you will be able to put your writing and Social Media skills to use on our Twitter, Instagram & Youtube pages. You will also have the opportunity to attend the festival for free.

Crafty Folk

Our creative site decoration team add colour and beauty, pretty – and useful – signage to the Warwick Folk Festival site and they are looking for help! Whether it’s crocheting flowers, hand painting signposts, making bunting – or anything else you can think of – join the team and make Warwick look wonderful.

Decorations need to be created prior to the festival, and ideally, working with the site decoration team, you’ll be able to help put them up on site on Wednesday 26th and/or Thursday 27th July.

Skills required: Creativity, craft skills, and interest in festivals and Warwick Folk Festival in particular.

A great addition to your CV, volunteering with a well respected festival, you will be able to put your creative skills to use on our beautiful site and help create a unique festival atmosphere. You will also have the opportunity to attend the festival for free.

Festival Ambassadors

Warwick Folk Festival Ambassadors promote the Festival to the areas and people they come into contact with – you cannot beat a personal recommendation! Ambassadors are provided with flyers, posters and online resources to help spread the festival word.

Ambassadors also have the chance to be part of a focus group within the Festival, where they can make recommendations to the committee for any improvements that they think would be helpful, and also recommend artists, and ideas that they had seen elsewhere.

Warwick will be celebrating its 40th Festival in 2019 and we plan to organise something special for that year, either by collecting people’s memories, photographs and videos, which will help to tell the story of the history of the Warwick Folk Festival. We hope Ambassadors can towards this by sharing their own memories and collecting those of others.

Ambassadors roles include:

  • distribution of leaflets and posters at events and festivals (With the AFO Scheme, there could be some festivals that we can get free admission to for our Ambassadors to distribute WFF literature and spread the word).
  • Distribution of leaflets door to door in selected postcodes in Warwick
  • Distribution of posters to shops, pubs, noticeboards in selected Warwickshire towns & villages.
  • Helping at our information market stall in Warwick’s Market Qquare on Saturdays prior to the festival.

Skills required: Enthusiasm, confidence, an interest in people, festivals and Warwick Folk Festival in particular.

A great addition to your CV, volunteering with a well respected festival, you will be able to put your people skills to use to help sell tickets and encourage more people to our fabulous festival. You will also have the opportunity to attend the festival for free.
